Конспект урока по английскому языку на тему: «Образование
сравнительной и превосходной степени в английском языке».
Presenting Grammar.
Lesson Plan.
Comparative and superlative adjectives.
1. Building context.
The teacher brings the picture, shows it to the students and tells them that
it’s the picture of him.
T: What do you think happened? Why was I so sad? What did I do? Where
did I go? Was it the best or the worst night in my life?
The students suggest different ideas.
2. Model sentences.
Then the teacher tells the real story and asks the same questions. The
teacher asks if the students were right, checks the understanding.
After that gives the text with the story, asks to work in pairs and to find
the words in bold.
Last night I saw the worst film I've ever seen. It was even worse than Rocky IV. It
lasted the longest three hours and, believe me, it was the most boring three
hours of my life. The acting was dull, I was very disappointed. I left work earlier
than usual especially to see it. My friend had recommended it, saying it was the
best film he had seen for months. I won't listen to him again. He has the strangest
taste of anyone I know.
Students find the words “the worst, worse than, the longest, the most boring…”
The teacher asks what the students remember about them.
3. Highlight meaning.
The teacher draws three pictures of cinemas and writes:
big-bigger-the biggest }regular>1syllable
comfortable-more comfortable-the most comfortable} regular>2 or more
syllables
good-better- the best }irregular
The teacher explains the word “syllable”.
4. Highlight spoken form.
The teacher repeats adjectives .The class repeats.
5. Checking understanding.
T: Does “big” have 1 or 3 syllables? Does “comfortable” have 1 or more than 2
syllables? Is “better” regular or irregular?
6. Highlight written form.
The teacher underlines er, the est; more, the most
The teacher writes over bigger, more comfortable, better-comparative; over the
biggest, the most comfortable, the best superlative.
7. Summarise “rule”.
Then he says we use er, the est; more, the most to form comparatives and
superlatives.
8. Restricted practice.
Students in teams make comparisons looking at the pictures and the list of
adjectives. Each correct answer gets 1 point. The team with the most points is the
winner.

The teacher monitors the game.
9. Report back.
The teacher announces the winner, asks some students what they talked about and
corrects errors.
10. Freer practice.
At first the teacher discusses with the students the adjectives which can be used
and writes them on the board.
In pairs, students find the differences between picture A and picture B using
comparisons.
Student A: There are more pictures on the walls.
Student B: There are fewer pictures on the walls.
The teacher helps the students with the vocabulary.
Report back.
The teacher asks “students A” to name the differences and then “students B”.
Afterwards he writes some errors which have been made on the board and asks
students to correct them.
